San Diego, CA (OPENPRESS) March 1, 2008 -- Voice of America recently reported that integrity has become so crucial an election issue that U.S. presidential candidates are now using commercial marketing tactics to 'package' their alleged integrity to the public.
According to psychologist and non-partisan integrity expert Dr. David Gruder, these developments have propelled integrity into one of the deciding factors in the upcoming Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island primaries. Gruder, who just released the book, The New IQ: How Intelligence Serves You, Your Relationships and Our World, further asserts “this means that providing Integrity Education resources to the public and the media is now more important than ever during this election year.”
Because of this, Gruder has turned his attention as an integrity educator to the issue of political integrity in the upcoming elections by developing a tool that voters and the media can use to evaluate the integrity of the four leading U.S. presidential candidates.
The Politician Integrity Rating Tool, or PIRT, helps voters get past political spin. The PIRT provides a particularly revealing picture of how much they know or don't know about a candidate's integrity through allowing them to rate the major presidential candidates on ten key dimensions of politician integrity. It instructs and inspires citizens to better understand integrity and, in turn, more effectively demand it from candidates seeking office and politicians currently holding elected positions. This free user-friendly integrity education resource features a unique "pyramid-style" rating system for evaluating Barack Obama, Hilary Rodham Clinton, Mike Huckabee and John McCain.
Through the PIRT, as well as his free articles, blogs and e-courses, Dr. Gruder aims to raise voter savvy about candidate integrity before the November 2008 presidential elections.
