Young People Want to be Free to Move
December 4th 2006 04:01
According to a BBC global survey of 15-17 year-olds, four out of every five youngsters believe people should be able to live in any country they choose without migration controls.
Of those questioned 79% said people should be able to live in whatever country they choose while 64% said they would emigrate to another country if they could secure a better financial future.
Currently about 3% of the world's population are migrants, if this poll is anything to go by, that number will rise significantly in the not too distant future.
